So, changed my oil today. The plug had a hard time coming out, ended up rounding it, replaced it after getting an extractor set and a shiny new one from AZ.
Could someone please tell me why in the world there would be blue Loctite on the threads and mating flange of the old one???
Am I missing something? I thought you were supposed to be able to take them out...
Although blue loctite is the removable stuff, there is no legitimate reason to have loctite on the oil drain plug. Whoever changed the oil last time was incompetent.
did you happen to have the vehicle last oil change done at walmart? the reason why i ask is because they use (or use to) a blue glue around the plug to make sure it wasn't tampered with if there was a problem with the service they provided.
my mother found out the hard way they are idiots cause they used the glue on the filter gasket too... sorry it is a little bit off topic just had to add that.
