Computer Resetting

On average how long does it take for the computer to reset. Had the battery disconnectd while I replaced the oil pump. Now the engine runs funny, and I get a lot of air coming ou the air pump discharge. I have put about 20 miles on the engine, since then. The truck is a 1993,F150 with a 5.8

If you disconnect both the positive and the negative cables from the battery and touch both cables together, it resets the ECU. hope this helps.

It came aroud after driving 20 more miles. Thanks for the reply, thats the first time I've heard of touching the two battery leads together.:-)
