when i change a setting in idle, i.e. 80 econ to stock, the idle goes up and down real fast and the engine romps alot.It never did that before and last night i notice the engine sounded louder like a real bad fuel knock thats when i switched it and notice the idle changed.Anyone have an idea. Thanks,Chris
Do you have the shielded cable connecting the switch to the chip? I'm assuming you do, unless you have an early F5 and never got around to installing the new cable. I had my new cable for several months before it started acting up on me (hit the horn, truck died), but once I put the new cable in all was fine.
You might make sure the connections are tight to the chip and switch. However, my idle changes quite a bit when I switch back to stock as well. Drops really low, picks up to a high idle for just a second, then settles in normally. It could be something as simple as your oil is getting worn out and you're due for a change.
I'd call Jody in the morning and talk it over with him. I'm sure he's got the best idea as to what it may be.

Programming on the chip does not change. When Jody gets back on Tuesday give him call. I would run a contribution test for the injectors to rule out any fueling issues and check the pedal voltage at idle. He will want to know if you did this. It will help him diagnose the issue better.
Thanks,
Diane
