throttlebody adjustment

Hi all! I have a question I was wondering if I could get some help. I have recently purchased a 91 f-150 4x4 302 I have had some problems with it but think that most are worked out. My question is what is the preliminary adjustment for the throttlebody. I know that the computer will adjust for the idle and set it up but there has to be an initial setting on the throttlebody or I wouldn't think they would need to put a adjustment screw on it is there anyway to do this in the garage or is it something I can't do? I was wondering about disconnecting the iac and setting it at the idle I need and then plugging it back in but don't know if tht is right or if there is more to it than that.

throttlebody adjustment

The book says while the truck is running, un-plug the IAC. The motor should slowly die. If it keeps running, the throttle is open too much. If it dies quickly, the throttle is not open enough.

I have not found that yet, I have been in the manual quite a bit in the last month and haven't seen it. I probably will now though, that will probably be where the book falls open to the next time I open it.
