I have some Nitto Grappler 295 70/17 and there is no rubbing at all even off roading. I would say 305's are the biggest you could go with out rubbing, 315's and you will probably need a leveling kit in the front....

I have the 305s and no problems, but you need to check with the pre-2005 4x4 guys, I hear the leaf spring front end might have some rub issues. Might try posting your Q in the general Superduty forum...

diesel dan is right, the leaf sprung 4x4 trucks (99 to 04) won't take as large a tire up front as the 05 and later coil sprung 4x4's. Less wheel offset on the earlier models as well. This has been covered quite a bit in the Super Duty/Heavy Duty forum, check it out!
