302, 351 heads

As far as I know I have a 1978 lincoln 302. I am looking for different options for heads and wanted an earlier era head like a 60's for the smaller combustien chambers. Can anyone tell me if 60's and 70's era parts are compatible or interchangable? Thanks for the help

10-4, any 289 or 302 heads will bolt right on. Same for 351W heads except it uses bigger head bolts.

Oh Great, thanks for the help. When you say 351 W heads have bigger bolts do you mean longer or wider?

302 has 7/16" head bolts, 351 uses 1/2".

The '69-77 351 heads had 60cc combustion chambers and 1.84/1.54 valves. Some of the 302 and 289 heads had smaller chambers again but also use smaller valves, the extreme was the HP289 head with 49cc chambers and 1.67/1.45 valves. BTW. .the '78 302 heads has 69cc chambers and 1.78/1.45 valves.
