ok sorry this is not a truck ,it is a 94 ford escort, with a 1.9 in it ,i put a new clutch in it , it is all put in right , but i can NOT get it to engage , the clutch pedel gos to the floor i have pumped and pumped,i can not the air out ,with out any brake fluid coming out of the bleeder screw, i even put a vacume pump on the bleader serew ,with vary little fluid comeing out of it ,i know it must be air in it but the line is only 16 in long ,and it did work befour i replaced the clutch, any help would be great ,ps sorry for such a long message
marvin,
i sounds like you mean you cant get the clutch to DISengage
when your bleeding you have the screw open correct if not just open the bleeder screw and pump abunch and have someone watch to see if anything comes out
i use a vacum pump to bleed alot of systems and i try to pump the fluid up from the slave to the master because air rises in fluid and this methed seems to work very well 75% of the time but somtimes air gets stuck somwhere and i have to rebleed the old fashion way
you could also have a bad master but if it was working before its probly fine
My friend had a similar problem after a clutch swap in his 95 escort. His clutch barely worked, he had to pump it to shift. Even though it had some action, it took forever to bleed out the air to get it to work properly. I dont like how those cars share the same resevoir for the brakes and clutch. Seems if you lost fluid, you can't downshift or stop in an emergency.
