I have a 1985 f-250 2wheel drive, 6.9 liter diesel (stock), im lookin for a project and i want to remove the front coil/ twin beam suspension, and replace it with leaf springs, and a dana 60 axle, what am i going to need and is it something that is possible??? i know the frame may be shaped differently from a stock4x4 with leaves in the front.
The f150 is shaped different, but from what I am hearing, the 2wd f250 frame may be the same as a 4wd f250 frame, with the holes there for the leaf spring mounts.
I would probably be cheaper for you to buy a whole other truck for parts. The only rub may come from the tranny. If you have an c6 automatic, then you are going to have to get a diesel parts truck with a good automatic, or tear your diesel automatic down and convert it to accept the transfer case. The diesel has it's own bellhousing pattern.
