Found an Excursion

If all goes well, I'll be picking it up next week...

2004 Ford Excursion Limited
Mileage: 58,820
Exterior Color: Pueblo Gold Metallic
Interior Color: Medium Parchment
Engine: 6.8L V10
Transmission: AUTO 4SPD
Drivetrain: 4X4
Price: $15000

I think I did good. It looks to be in excellent condition. Carfax came up clean, OASIS pending.

Sounds like a very good deal. Check what rear end gear it has also, it matters if you are planning for a huge trailer mover. Good Luck with it

It's a 3.73 open rear.

My TT is a 8000 lb max trailer... usually only 7000lb loaded. Thanks for the heads-up!!

Wow thats a great deal, I bought a 04 Limited with 48k on it last year for $18000 and that was a good deal then.

Good luck with it, I have the same color with the same rear and about the same weight trailer.

HA!!!!

Ours is an 08 8317!

I hope you don't camp in NY... we might accidentally walk into each other's campers at night!

You on RV.net?

That is a great deal. Out here, asking price would be closer to $20,000 or more.

I'd check it throughly. The 03, 04, models were not the greatest.

Can you expand on that?

I had heard the earlier models 00-01 had piston slap issues, but have not heard of anything significant with the later models.

I know the GM motors did but did the Powerstroke motors have that issue too?

Nope I camp in NJ, PA & MD most of the time but I do plan on heading up to Lake George this year so ya never know. Yep I am on RV.net my handle is"cenley", and your camper will be more than 7000lbs easily after you get it loaded. Will probably have a TW of arounf 1000-1200lbs. I think aklim may have been referring to the 03/04 6.0 motors when he said they were not the greatest. Never heard of piston slap in the V-10 motor either. Also I believe by 03/04 models the spark plug spitting was a thing of the past with the head redesign.

Good luck I hope you enjoy your new TT & Excursion.

No v-10s had piston slap. Aklim, how are the 03 and 04 bad models? Were talkin about the v-10 here, not the 6.0
