Rear Diff. Leaking
Today I noticed a dark spot under my trucks rear axle while walking up the driveway after getting the mail. So I crawl under the truck to investigate and find that the rear diff is leaking a little bit. The truck is a 06' F250 with 25k on her. Has anyone else had this? Should i take her in for warrenty work, and how erget is it. This reason I would like to avoid the dealership is that my truck get what i consider good fuel economy (14-15city 17-19highway) and i don't want some tech reflashing my computer. Also is this just a good reason to diff. fluid to something like Royle Purple?

If the rear differential is leaking enough to you to see on the ground, the leak needs to be fixed. If it is just the cover leaking this is an easy fix. If the leak if from the pinion seal you really don't want to end up paying to fix this later.
Since it is under warranty I would bring it in, otherwise you will end up doing the job yourself.
The rear end lube that Ford uses is a decent synthetic and works well.
