4.6 interchanger sohc to a dohc motor
Hi my name is ron an i have a 1997 f-150 pick-up with a sohc 4.6 winsor motor in it ,an i like to put a dohc motor from a 1997 mark 8 dohc 32 valve motor.Please help me me on what to do on this interchange.

I know this a common swap in the Thunderbird world. I would be willing to bet that its the same ease of swap with your truck. try www.tccoa.com there are lots of people there doing this exact sohc to dohc swap just in a car. I know its not much help but is step in the right direction.

the 32v 4.6 has a twin throttle body and does not make any power until the 4-5 grand range. If you did this i would recomend a quick trip around lincolnvscadillac.com for some engine info. You would probably want the 97 engine, a set of 02 conti C heads and some 03 cobra cams, along with a 80mm MAF, true duals, and a tune. Maybe a conti intake also to get the throttle body pointing to the front of the engine.
