I have an 08 F-250 that pulls to the left since new. Had it to the dealer 2 times for alignment but still pulls. It almost feels like the steering box is sloppy and you are constantly fighting to keep it going straight on the highway. I don't notice it around town much.
Any thoughts before I bring it back to the dealer. Wondering if anyone else has the same problem.
My truck did the same thing. I think I didn't break in my brakes good enough when it was new, so I did a couple of panic stops from about 40 mph and it the pull went away.
You have a bad tire on the front axle, probably the left front.
This condition is known as "radial pull". These tires don't do anything if on the rear axle, so if you swap the left front and left rear the condition should go away (if this is the problem).
I tried the brake thing and did nothing. Next I will try changing the tires.
I need to have the steering box looked at because I have about 1" of play in the wheel. Maybe the play in the steering wheel is making the pull seem worse then it really is but it does pull.
Any other ideas. I just want some ammo when I go back to the dealer.
