Are there any particular heads to watch out for in these engines... Like higher comp ratio, no smog addons, or bigger ports etc.... I know you can put 4v cleavland heads on them, but i don't want too big of ports...
Skud - According to Tom Monroes' book; How to Rebuild your Ford V-8 351C-351M-400-429-460 there is no difference between 351M and 400 heads, other than casting numbers. There are a few differences in the 351C heads, outside of 2V or 4V, mostly the chamber volume.

An M head is an M head is an M head. 2V 351C heads have a slightly smaller volume ( /- 2 cc) and are rumored to have slightly better (thicker) castings but other than that they are identical. If you really want to increase the performance then port & polish them and machine them for the bigger 4V valves.
