I hadent started my truck about a week and when i started it drove it the low rpm power is gone why is this? its a 77 F150 4x4 351M 4speed i use to be able to take off and tap the gas in 2nd idling and the tires would spin now it wount what can i do to get that power back.
thats interesting. when you step on it is it making any strange noises or feelings that it didnt before? or is it just running exactly the same with less power? there are so many things that could be wrong with it, its hard to say when all we know is that theres loss of power. the first thing i always do if that happens is make sure all the plug wires are tight and that the carb is squirting gas...let us know some more symptoms.
it runs exactly like it did but when i start off in 2nd i have to give it more gas especily in 4 high once i get past a certin rpm its fine it still idles fine and runs fine just like it use to before.

You pushed on the gas, jerk, buck, sputter, no power, you really couldn't even get it up to road speed, and yet it idled fine. I had a tiny piece of something get sucked into one of the jets in the fuel bowl of the carburetor. A quick disassembly and cleaning had me off and running again. My truck had also sat for about three weeks not ran.

Thanks if it ever stops raining and i can wash the 4 layers of mud off of it i went muddinglast night it ran good never gave me any problems ecept when i started to digging trenches i had the rear differental dragging throguh it. i will get the carb cleaned if it keeps on running like that with the way it ran last night i might not have to another thing i just thought of that it could be is the accelerator pump.
