I bought a set of chrome wheels from a guy on saturday for my truck. He works for a contruction company that has all Ford trucks. They have four F250 and F350 SD's that are use for plowing. He said that every one of the trucks has had a leaky windshield along the top seam. The glass company that resealed the windshields stated that they are repairing tons of these Fords that are used for plowing. It sounds like the sealing material that Ford has used in the past must have been defective or that the bodies are experiencing some unusual tweeking from plowing. Has anyone had this problem with their truck? No, mine does not leak. I'm just curious as to what the problem is if any. I have looked at my truck cab and compared it to the way my 1994 was made. The 94 cab to me appears to have been built much stronger than what I see on these new cab forward designs. I also noticed that the side frame rails are a two piece design and joined just in front of the cab. My old style F250 had a one piece side frame rail.
My 2002 doesn't do a lot of plowing down here in Houston, but it started leaking a couple years back. I just re-sealed it myself and it has been fine since.
my 02 7.3L F250 had the same leaky windshield but here in south Texas we dont have snow plows, i called the dealer and they said they know about the problems but no recall went out. so i took it to a windshield company and they resealed it. this was over 3 years ago and no leaks since
Thanks for the information guys. From what you all say it is definetely a bad batch of sealant that has caused this problem. Thanks, I will pass it on to this guy I spoke with on Saturday.
