I tried the search to no avail....
As most of us know the front wheels on the Expedition look likes the brake dust fairy threw up over them. Any suggestions on shields? I don't want to heat up the rotors, etc. The pads were replaced before I bought them so I don't want to replace with Ceramic just yet. I will when it's time.
I used Kleen Wheels for 95k on a 99 Expy and then for around 60k on a 2003 Expy. I didn't have any trouble until the dealer rotated the tires and didn't keep the shields in the right locations - they basically did the rotation without popping them off so they wound up on the wrong side. Front rotors warped. Shame on me for not checking their work. Up until then with correct installation they were great. I towed a 5000lb boat for 6 hours through winding downhills with them in and no problems with braking. I have Raybestos Quiet Stop pads on now that don't dust all that much so I didn't bother to put them back in.
It does, there is a little arrow on a sticker on the back showing the direction of rotation. It basically needs to spin so that the little tabs that are popped through the disc catch the air and bring it in
You can get them through a bunch of catalogs. They usually don't stock them in stores for whatever reason. I got mine at performanceproducts.com . At the time they were around $40.
Got mine from Rockauto.com. Best deal I found. Never had any heat issues, but I have had the problem with tire centers not paying attention. They actually doubled them up on one wheel. This is something you have to train yourself to check out after tire work is done.
I am trying to find them again myself, but my work has blocked the site for some reason. When I get home I will try to find them and post a direct link.
