Yea, I’m licensed for conceal carry but here in the state of FL it’s legal to carry a long gun with or with out permit. God loves a red state!

The scatter gun is for in town and interstate trips. When I’m back home on the farm, which isn't as much as I'd like, I usually trade it out for the Mini 14. You never know when you’ll run across a pesky coyote or groundhog that needs to leave this earth.

I carry a multi-tool knife, a light duty ac/dc inverter, a 4 way tire lug wrench, jumping cables, tie down straps and bungie cords, the screw-jack that came with my truck, a sweater in case I get stranded somewhere when it's cold, 1/4" set of sae sockets and ratchet, a 1/2" socket & ratchet set that fits sae & metric (I HATE the fact my truck uses a mix of both), measuring tape, sludge hammer, vice grips, big and small pliers, nose-pliers, pipe wrench, spare fuses, couple screw drivers, spare quart of oil, spare keys hidden somewhere on my truck (I lock myself out frequently), small flashlight, big flashlight, a decently heavy chain.

Besides that, I usually carry some other tools depending on what I'm doing. I try to keep the weight down to help gas mileage.

Quite often I'll also have some parts that I'm trying to jery-rigg into my truck or just messing around with. In that case I currently have a cruise control servo from a chrysler, and I intended on hooking it up in my ranger.

Only recently did I figure out that I needed a compatible computer as well... lol.

I, at this time of year, carry winter survival gear. Food, an old insulated one-piece hunting suit, a cb radio, 2 flashlights, serious tow strap and come-along, an emergency blanket, and a bare-bones tool kit... including jumper cables. Depending upon the weather, I may also have a snow shovel tossed in the bed. Driving home at midnight in a white-out ain't fun, and indeed can kill you. It might be spring down south but UP here caution is still called for.
Actually, not much will change beside the type of shovel come summer since my truck goes places that tow trucks can't... It will just be stored in a waterproof container in the bed instead of inside of my x-cab.

I carry my golf clubs, except in the winter when I have to sacrifice them for a snow shovel. A tow strap and a used serpentine belt are always there. My Ranger does not venture far from my garage and tools.

Lessee, I have my new set of extractors, a grease gun loaded with ford's moly grease, a tub of the moly grease, my craftsman mechanics set, and in the bed I have a small floor jack, two jack stands and my spare tire.

Oh, and my ball peen hammer is in there, since I had use that to install the extractor to my drain plug... Ouch.

Thanks for all the replies. Some of you guys carry the whole garage! As for myself, I have a multi tool, multi bit screwdriver, survival knife, and roadside assistance on my cell phone for anything that won't cover.

With all those tools you could rebuild the entire truck on the side of the road if it breaks down.

Or use the tools for you job

I bought my Ranger last week (1994 XLT 4x2 regular cab). Traded off my '88 F150 for it, and so had to clean out all the accumulated stuff I'd gathered in there. Found out that lots of it won't fit in the Ranger.

Right now, there's a bag with jumper cables, a small hydraulic jack and handle (in its own plastic carry case), a snowbrush/ice scraper, a pair of pliers, and Phillips and straight screwdrivers. In the glovebox is a multi-tool and a short ice scraper. The Ranger also has a toolbox in the bed, but the lot I bought it from did'nt have a key for it, so until I figure out a way to lock it up, it stays empty.

My job is more or less a janitor I do use the drill as a screwgun on ocasion but the tools are something I can't leave home without mostly because of my "hobby". I love to help the world by recycling metal and you never know when someone will say hey do you take??? I have access to a tow bar for things like GM products but I only take those if I double glove first .

Okay so I bent the rules a tad... but I have helped out people that would have required a mobile mechanic or wrecker had I not been there with my demolition shop.
