First ride

I finally got a chance to go get the 98 f-250 4x4 supercab s.b.. i bought two weeks ago. I've been wondering about it's power since it's a 4.6, auto.
I filled it up, and headed home 54 miles away, theres a couple of 6% five mile grades between here and there and i decided to just put it on cruze and see what happened.

It went up the hills without a problem and i had to kick it out of cruze a couple of times because of going a little to fast (68) for the 45mph corners.
I took one of the turnoffs before home so i could try the 4x4 out, we still have between 6" and 2 feet of snow at this elevation and i didn't have go far to find a nice rotten snow bank to play in, so i jamed it in as far as it would go in two wheel, and reached down to put it in 4hi, and pulled the shifter **** off the lever, ... Hmmmmm, so this is how it's gonna be.

It went in 4hi and backed out without even spinning one of the bald tires, not bad. I ended up putting 145 mile on it yesterday ( 7.67 gallons ) a little over a 1/4 tank and it came out to 18.9 for mileage, for freeway, playing in the snow, mud, and everything in between. Not bad for a fleet truck. I will try the five tank average and see where i end up, still not bad for a rig thats been sitting since november with 3/4's a tank of old fuel. O, ... and the diff. tag sezs t6, and it will smoke both rears about ten feet on pavement, a pretty strong little engine, this one could be a keeper, blue.
