Does anyone know if it is OK to flush the brake fluid on the Superduties with a pressurized brake bleeder? I have a motive products bleeder that I use on my German cars, but was wondering if there is any problem with using it on the Superduties. It is a canister that holds new fluid that attaches to the master cylinder reservoir and pressurizes (I think you use @20 psi) it so all you have to do is open the bleeder valves (one at a time) and wait for fluid coming out to be clear. I wanted to be sure that it wont affect or harm the ABS on these trucks before I try it. My trucks are a 99 F250 5.4 and a 2000 F350 7.3d both with @100k miles and probably mostly original fluid. When I search this forum the only suggestion I find is gravity bleeding, and I know the pressurization would be a lot faster. Thanks for advice!
You should be OK with the pressure bleeder. Pretty straight forward system. Just remember to send it over here when you are done so I can do the brakes on my kids 1970 F250.
Absolutely OK to use the pressure bleeder. As a matter of fact...just a couple of weeks ago...I did mine with my Motive bleeder. I also used the Motive catch bottles for a drip free flush.
I actually used only 15psi...and that worked just fine. I poured a complete gallon of new fresh brake fluid into the pressure bottle...and went at it. I actually had a hard time telling if the master cylinder was full or not. Because the fluid was so clean!
