confused about fuel filter
ok so my truck was running a little funny idleing high running a little warm an my tranny was shifting hard from first to second so i started gearing up to change plugs plug wires fuel filter tranny fluid and tranny filter. i had the fuel filter so i went ahead and changed that and got in the truck to head to napa and all of my problems were gone. and i was just wandering if a clogged fuel filter could cause all those problems

if it was really, really clogged it could.
the p.o. could have used bad fuel, or run it out of fuel often.
also the amount of miles since it was last changed and where the truck is from could all contribute to it being clogged.

it "could" have caused it or it may have been part of the problem.
too many variables to say that it was the only problem.
if it were my truck i would pull the plugs and look over the iac and air filter etc.
