Hey SB is your snow gone? It was 100 last weekend but today it's been spitting snow off and on all morning! Not enough to stick or anything, just enough to make you go WTF??? It's about 20 degrees colder today than the low last Sunday.
Gage - Fallon is a small city with about 8,000 of the 10,000 residents of Chruchill County living there. I live out in the county, about 6 miles from town. We're an hour east of Reno, and 1 1/2 hours from Lake Tahoe. There's some manufacturing here but mostly agricultre and the navy base (yes, there are many that are nowhere near the water lol). Lots of cows here, and the only two sale yards in the state. Two race tracks, a lake and all the desert you want to explore. Perhaps you heard of the flood in Fernley last winter? That canal brings water to them (Fernley) and us. The Newlands irrigation project is located here, hence our nickname as the "Oasis of Nevda". It's actually very green here, not how you'd picture a desert at all. If you check my profile there are some pictures on my webpage.

Actually, we normally don't have too many days that top 100, because of our elevation I think, we're at just about 4000'. It got hotter where I used to live in SoCal (just south of San Bernardino) not to mention much smoggier - yuk.
Gage - me too, I moved here because it reminded me of the small town my hometown used to be before it became commuting distance from LA. That's another benefit - no traffic!

Good! Spent the holiday at the lake, and started a new contract last week so I'll have a job for a few months anyway. Most of the offers I've had have been out of state an I don't want to move. What do you do? The gold price boom has caused a lot of mines to reopen out here, and the pay is pretty good.
