Almost wrecked need advice
well after puting exhaust on the ford the other day i put insurance on her and was drivin her down the road. I went to turn a corner and the truck would not hardly go anywhere. The steering is very loose and i almost wrecked into another car.
So i need to know how to rebuild this box if possible....73 ford f100 manual steering box, i mean i can turn the wheel on a clock from 3 to 9 and the truck doesn't turn, any suggestions? thanks in advance

Did you ckeck and greese your kingpins???? These are known for sticking and can really mess up the steering. The steering will not return to center on it's own and you have to turn the wheel quite a bit before the front wheels turn. Try jacking the front wheels clear and steer the front wheels by hand, should be able to steer full travel with decent but not too forcefull an effort.Good Luck

Could be a lot of things that are worn out or need maintenance. Like duste said jack the front end up and move the front tires. Then have someone move the steering wheel back and forth while you check everything for play, such as the steering shaft, steering box, center link, etc. Could be a combination of things

yay i would definitley agree with those guys check the steering arms and stuff below the box before you take out the box. make sure everything is greased before you do somthing you dont have to trust me ive been there.
