I have a 1974 f-600 dump truck that has a tired 330 HD and 4 speed trans. with 2 speed axle. Was wondering if a 390 would be a good swap, I want something that will give me more power . Not sure what I need to be looking for that will bolt up to my bellhousing and trans. Any help and sugestions will be greatly appreciated.

So the title to the thread should be: Can I swap 330 to 390 ?
I'm pretty sure you can but don't quote me on that.
There are so many engines and transmissions in that class it is hard to remember.
I can check my application chart or the shop manual for you.

Howdy and also welcome to the FTE site, i see your truck is a dumper probally you haul a lot of weight, i would intertain the idea of a 391 FT engine over a 390 FE engine. just my 2 cents worth..
