Got my 1st question
I know there are a few posts regarding this already but it seems none I found reflect my 1996 so….
My 96 F-250 is a XL and has manual locks and windows. My first mod is to put power in. Anyone ever do this with this year truck? Did Ford use a universal harness/ should the necessary wiring already be in my doors? Should I buy a kit or find a donor truck? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

if it's anything like a '90, and I believe it is, then none of the wiring is there. I was going to do the same thing myself with my '90 using an '87 xlt as a donor truck, but after looking at all whats involved I decided to just roll my windows. Installing the hardware isn't too difficult and you'll need door panels etc. so a parts truck would be perfect...the part that kept me going ahead with it was the amount of wiring I would of had to do, just didn't have the patience (BTW I think somebody else on this forum has posted some pics that may be helpful)

The wire may be in behind the dash and probably r . but there r no wires to doors for it. The curcuits for ti would not be hard so if can rob parts from a wreck you r in bussness.
