hey paul you have many problems with the carb on your 77?
I did, Had to repair the major vacuum leak in the Brake booster, and just fixed the Accelerator Pump last week. Seems like it's running alot better, but I need to get it adjusted a little better, seems like it want's to bog now and again.
that is why i am trying to get christian involved-and he is a good mechanic-he has helped me a lot-he knows the newer stuff-well new than what i know-I'm a carb man-and points-I can make them run sweet
I got this Mustang here with points in it, Seems like it runs well but I know I can get it better. The guy who had it before me was not very bright, and i got a bunch of vacuum lines that are just plugged off, When It gets warmer, I'm gonna get into it a little more in depth.
well I may have to make a trip up and check it out-will look around for my old dwell meter-I usually use that as a final point check-and you can play around with the timing and get a lot more out of them

I certainly appreciate it, Really want to get the old girl running at peak efficiency, I just haven't had the time to play around with it.
I've allways found if you don't stomp it the 4 barrel is better on gas-had an old chrysler 2 barrel factory gettinf 14 -went to a 4 barrel and dual points and tuned the **** out of it-re timed it 4 dgrees more advanced and was getting 21 on the highway-old 318-69 sattelite-man wish I kept that car!
once it warms a bit and i get a little bling in my pocket I'll let ya know-as broke as a joke here lately-guess driving from here to dc and gas is taking it's toll

When Dad bought the truck, he took the 4 bbl motorcraft off and put on a Holley 750cfm, I don't know what happened to it, but he said it got 22 mpg then, but now 31 years later, I'm getting around 12-15, but I know I gotta tune her up as it's been years since it was done last.
