Guys it is time to repeat this again.
The B5 recommendation comes from EMA (Engine Manufacturers Association) and stems from the lack of ASTM standards for BioDiesel. It is not the truck makers that set the max percent at 5%, they were following industry guidelines.
The reason B5 was chosen is because if the BD meets the standard for use in blending at the 5% level the blended fuel still meets the standard for #2 diesel.
As ASTM gets closer to finishing the standards for higher percentage blends you should see those percentages rise, it is already happening in some industrial use engines.
