Cruise control questions
My friend recently had his car ran into, and is junking it out. It's a chrysler concord or something similar, with a v6. He let me take the cruise control servo off of it. It had worked supposedly.
Anyways, this servo is vacuum operated, and has 4 wires going to it, I've tested their operation with a 12v 1amp source, and this is what I got.
black wire: assumed to be ground, appears correct.
orange w/ red stripe: vented vacuum when powered, with a click noise, no cable movement at all
green w/ red stripe: made a click noise, no cable movement.
blue or purple w/ red stripe: This has made a click noise before, and a few times it's just tried to weld the wire like it was shorting out or something, no cable movement.
I've been reading up on cruise control in general, and I've come to realize that this servo may require some sort of computer to operate. I may still be able to pull this computer from the chrysler if it's seperate from the pcm and whatnot, and if I know where to look. Does anyone have any clues here?
Also, does anyone know if a 97 ranger xlt 2.3 5spd reg cab has the cruise control computer integrated with the pcm? And if so, do you know how I would wire it up?
If nothing else, does anyone have a clue as to what the 4 wires on this servo are supposed to do when powered?
Any help would be appreciated...
