With a relativly new 6.0 truck does anyone know what the rev limit or safe RPM limit should be while running Spartan tunes?
the engine isn't really broken-in having just over 10k.mi. on the odo.
They come stock with a 3600 rpm rev limit..... I'd say the clever thing to do is to not mess with that number. Not certain, but that may very well be based on internal loadings.
any of them.
It just doesn't want to shift early enough. The trans. seems to "hang" in gear and sputter along once at 3600 rpm. Always at WOT
I also found that once in overdrive crusin' along, if I decelerate even a little bit, I would feel a momentary lack of power, like I removed my foot for a moment.
I'd like to get another tune that isn't so finiky. The "Mild Race" file seems to belch a bit of black smoke in the morning, idle rough especially when temps are around 40* or so and the go pedal is way too sensitive. But again this is a "mild race" file and may not be for daily driving.
I will email Spartan and ask if I can get something a bit more dialed-in for my taste. I just wanted to ask you guys here about the rev limit because all my tunes seem to hang the trans at the rev limit and I really don't want to open it above 3600 rpm if at all possible. The engine is all stock.
Thanks again for the replies.
