Hi there I bought a 2" front leveling kit for my 2005 f150,I have installed it and did a string toe out alignment just until I get it to the shop,Could anybody please tell me why it added 3" to the front, could it have anything to do with the 6" fabtech suspension lift that I have on the truck.. Thanks Steve
Lifts are approximate, and when you couple it with another lift anything could happen. If you have torsion bars, then the bars are beyond the index that the manufacture expected. Perhaps, when you brought the front end up enough weight shifted to the rear and you got nearly another inch of clearance out of it. Just tossing out ideas.
Maybe they sent you the 2.5" leveling kit instead. I guess 3" is better than only getting 1" though right.
Not if he only wanted his truck "level". It sounds like his front end is higher than the back now. That's the only thing that keeps me from leveling my truck. I'm worried it's going to not be level. What size leveling kit do you have?
The front end is 1" higher now,After looking over the truck I noticed that the shop that installed the lift has the ford 2" blocks plus the fabtech blocks on the rear axel,I looked at the install instructions from fabtech and it only had the fabtech blocks installed,I have emailed them and am waiting for a reply,Could someone check if they have a fabtech installed and tell me what they have for blocks. And has anyone ever installed a 2"leveling kit front end kit with a 6" lift, I think thats the reason for the extra lift does have something to do with the suspension geomerity.
Thanks Steve
I did the 2" kit on my truck and i ended up about a half inch higher than I calculated. According to my measurements the truck was supposed to end up a quarter inch lower on the front and it ended up a quarter inch higher than the rear. Doesn't really bother me cuz I'm going to do the add a leaf in the rear because I'm going to be towing a 6200lb RV.
I did find it ironic though, and although it's only a quarter inch higher up front it sure seems like more, but like I've always said the measuring tape never lies!
