exhaust question

I am looking to replace the end tip of my exhaust because it is getting rusty looking so my question is if cut off some of the end and put on a turndown exhaust could i just use self tapping screws to keep it on? the tips would look like this.

I don't know why they don't come up with an adhesive for connecting exhaust components. Isn't an adhesive used to attach those tiles to the space shuttle?

cause im sure the adheasive used on the space shuttle is effin expensive, as is everything that pertains to the space shuttle! I think you could probably buy a cheap welder or have an exhaust shop tack em up for ya MUCH cheaper than that stuff of the space shuttle cost, speakin of exhaust shop, im sure they could tack them on for probably 10 bucks.

mine are welded on. but three self-tappers on each side would work just fine
