What plugs you running?
I personally use autolite 46's and gap them at 35 thousandths.

Also, Welcome to FTE!
You will find some great info on this site.

Thanks Scifi266 I'm running autolite's. And thanks for the welcome. Now all I need is the points gap. I'm trying to keep this truck as original as possible. But haven't found any engine specs anywhere. For a 1966 f100 6cyl. My sons an painter with an auto shop and I'm trying to get the mechanics done before painting.

Ford used different heat ranges of spark plugs for the 1965 and later 240/300 engines.

It depended on the condition of the engine.

Standard: BF-42 OR BRF-42

Hotter: BF-82 OR BRF-82

Hottest: BF-92 or BRF-92

BRF = radio resistant.

Spark plug gap for the above: .028" / .032"

The above part numbers are from either Auto-Lite (when Ford owned the company, they sold it in 1971) or Motorcraft.
