4" Stacks through the bed, and the ATS snail and down pipe, this weekend. I will post pictures when done. Cheaper, I bought the in pipe mufflers, but don't plan on using them unless it sounds like crap... I will let ya know.
I have the bull hauler stacks on my truck and I love them. They are straight pipe 5", and the Banks sidewinder gives them a rediculous whistle.
I was going to run the stacks out side of my bed just like you were talking about because I have a dually as well. I was worried about getting to hot on the paint but I have seen them done like this after I put my stacks in the bed. They do look pretty neat outside of the bed, if you have a dually.
I have a picture of a crew cab dually 2wd F-350 with stacks outside of the bed on my computer but I don't know how to get it to show up here. I will try to put it in my gallery.

I'm going to take some pictures of my truck this weekend (if it is sunny). I'm way overdue to update my avater.
I was thinking of installing my wife's copy of PhotoShop on my laptop and then taking a picture of my truck and the picture of those side pipe out of the Whitney catalog and seeing if I couldn't "PhotChop" them onto the picture of my truck - just to see how it will look....
I've always been torn on stacks, I mean on one hand they sound awesome and they can look cool...but at the same time, they're pricey (compared to a regular exhaust system), they can also look gaudy and weird, and you have to cut a hole in your bed if you do them like most people do.
I bought my stack from ebay "chromeroom". $60 a piece, and $100 worth of 3" pipe, bends, mufflers, etc. $160 for a complete package, not all that expensive. I have a steel flatbed, so if i want a change in the future, I can just weld a cover over the hole, wouldn't be able to notice.

I also don't like how they take up space in the bed And cant immagine them looking good out side the bed on a srw like mine. I have been considering them since I saw the pick of the bull haullers. I think thouse would look sweet on my truck but also relised on the way home that they would be way too far above car windows
that's sweet! think it's a good look and can't believe it would be THAT loud, especially if you're moving on. LOL seriously, that looks really do-able to me and shouldn't be too hard to plumb in and brace.
I have a picture in my gallery under the file "other fords" with a red crew cab dually with stacks outside of the bed. looks pretty good to me. I can't get it in a post thought so it will show up here. There is also a picture of a crew cab dually bronco and an all wood (no paint or airbrushing) ford ranger.
