Smile Diesel 90 Bronco

New here just today...

Thought I would introduce myself.

Live in Osoyoos, both my GF and I have 90 Broncos, hers is an Eddie Bauer with 5.0L 4sp Auto, and basically will remain close to stock.

Mine is the current project,

Starting with a 90 Custom, 5.0L converted to 4sp st from an auto prior to my purchase.

I have a 93 7.3 IDI Turbo engine, T19 4sp and Dana 60F and 70R to install this summer. I'll be installing a 92 clip to update the look and add in a 99 Super Duty grille for a completely custom front end.

Two 8K winches, Warn 8274 for the front and Ramsey RE8000 for rear.

At this point most of all I need other than lifted springs and some small parts is ready to go once I get the GF's Bronco on the road (needs an AOD transmission) due to broken bell housing when I purchased it for her.

Have a line on some 46" Michelen XL's I may get for it too.

I enjoy camping most all motor sports (NO HOCKEY FOOTBALL OR BASEBALL) off roading, computers and amateur radio as well.

I'll post pics one day.

Al

osoyoos is a nice place. Small but so nice. I grew up in Kelowna (Lake Country area).

Welcome to the site....now with your swap on the drivers side of the engine x-member theres a provision cut out to clear the oil filter..you need to put a piece of steel plate in there to fill it in because the lower bolts of the diesel engine perch needs to mount to it.

Theres a guy who swapped in an IDI over on F S B.com... Ill see if i can find it for you.

Thanks Pud,

I read that thread quite a while ago, I have been in touch with Agnem from www.oilburners.net who did a 6.9 /C6 into a Bronco. We chatted quite some time before I made the choice to do this. His is a daily driver with minimal mods. My rig will be quite different.

As for dumping the 8K winches, if I get a deal on something that tickles my fancy then ya I would in a heart beat. As it stands, I have two 8K winches (in good shape) for under 500 bucks, with two bumpers......I'ld be happy to have a nice 15-20K hydraulic for the rear if possible.. I'll keep the Warn 8274 though. As I had thought of doing a few mods like the ones here in time http://www.gigglepin4x4.net/homepage/main.htm

Check out the small vid...dual motors, 3" longer drum for longer wire rope. I mean thats just awesome.

Anyway, it's all a waiting game as I have to get the GF's Bronco running and on the road before I can take mine off.

She is likely going to get one of the 8K winches if I get a biggarsed hydraulic.
