I have a 2001 f-250 4x4 ps diesel. The lockouts are auto and manual. I hate them. They do not turn very well. Does anyone know of any aftermarket replacements that work better??
I have the Warn Premium Hub Locks on my truck and they are great. They are a little more complex to install than the factory jobs, but they are still an easy install. These hub locks are more heavy duty and look much better than the factory ones. I have had them for about 1.5 years and not an ounce of trouble and they still operate as they did new. I believe I paid about $205.00 for the pair from OK Auto in New Jersey.
I put Mile Marker hubs on about 18 months ago. Work like a charm. Although, I am rather disappointed that the finish is starting to flake off. At least I don't have to use a pair of pliers to turn the factory ones to lock anymore (vaccuum never seemed to work anyway).
i bought warn lockouts for my truck off the shelf at blains. they fit my truck, but there is a 1/2 inch gap between the end of the lockout and the wheel cover. is this right? are there shorter wheel covers available for the stock aluminum wheels?
Same deal with the SuperWinch lockers. I considered getting a set of 08 caps to lessen or get rid of the gap. But right now I'm waiting for my new rims and doubt I'll use the stock wheels for anything but winter tires now so we'll see what happens when the time comes.
