fuel mileage

I was just curious as to what kind of uel mileage you are getting with the ranger 4x4 with the 4.0 liter engine?

I am getting 12, but i drive 100 percent city, I know people get way better than that though when they don't drive like I do.

13.1 - 14.0 when temps < 20
14.8 when temps in the 20's to low 30's
15.5 when temps in the high 30's - mid 40's
16.2'ish when temps in high 40's+

I get 18.5 to 22(freeway)
I drive like there is a cracked egg under the gas pedle

ranger1101, i'm assuming you could get better gas mileage if you drove slower?

Hilly country, mix of driving conditions, some 4x4 due to snow this week, 500lb of weight in the bed, 18mpg when I filled it up today.
Summer, same location 20-21mpg, not bad for a '94 w/179,xxx on the odometer.
I seldom exceed 2000rpm, though.

2000, w/Auto& OD, Winter, Summer, Uphill, Downhill, Tail wind, Headwind, Freight/Sand/Elk/Deer/Camping gear= 15.5-16.5 MPG. 20K MLS. Massive Torque though, right?
