Exhaust Install Issues

Ordered a Magnaflow Pro 4" cat back last week, came in today and went to install it. Finally got the stock system out and the new one on, but the tail pipe is hitting the fender well. We were running out of daylight by this time, and this is the first aftermarket exhaust I've ever attempted. It doesn't seem like there's anything else I can do as per adjustments, at least in the front length of pipe and the muffler. Could I have more adjustment in the relay from muffler to tail pipe? It's almost hitting the bed, though.
It's an 04 F250 6.0 CC SB
Suggestions?
Spence

try this

not sure how the magna install but if the hangers are not welded on and you bolt them on yourself you may need to switch them around. Also you tighten the sytem up from back to front making the adjustments. If you go the other way sometimes you get problems.

I would:
1- verify the right part # first (I am sure you did this but ya never know)
2- check hanger locations if applicable
3- loosen clamps and bolts and trying rotaing pipes to tweak angles and adjust clearances from the back to front the cat should be the last theing you snug up
4-Also make sure the truck is at ride height ie; doesn't have one wheel up in the air etc.. this can throw clearances off if you tighten it all up with the frame tweaked and then lower it down to ride height

just my $.02

lucky for you i have the same kit truck and problem....

That is if i am reading this right.. The tail pipe is up agenst the fender behind the tire where it comes out?

Try cutting 1 or 2 in off the end of the tailpipe on the ind where it goes in to the pipe over the axle.. this will give you more room to slide the tail pipe up in it making the end of the pipe go down away from the fender... I Thought it may have just ben because i had a goose neck hitch in the way

but i sent them pics and it is exactly as they show it! i think they welded the hanger on in the wrong spot? he hasnt got back to me as of yet. the pipes sound great just a bit crooked

When I spoke to magnaflow & mbrp they did not reccomend using duals with a gooseneck due to the very likely possibility of clearance issues.

that is why I did not get a dual kit... but it was still a small issue on a single system

And i read the original post wrong.. I have a torbo back.. not a cat back... but it may work out the same way just as well.
