Converting Auto Lights to DRL

I have a 2005 F250 SD with the Auto Light option. Has anyone attempted to convert this function to Daytime Running Lights? I'm thinking there has to be a photocell somewhere that could be blocked. Do you think I would cause problems?

Thanks
Terry

That is what I did, having bought a US truck and brought it to Canada,
I just lift off the photocell, unplug it and jumped the plug only 2 wires on the plug with no problems, then I put the cell back in place. I have a 03 350 superduty, it works.

Thanks Nedburg.

Do you have a picture or diagram that shows where the sensor is located?

The photocell on my 06 is on top of the dash, between the 2 windshield defroster vents.

I put a plastic cap over my sensor the day I bought the truck in 2003.

Lights are on all the time now.

No wiring, tools, or real work required.

The sensor is the bubble up on the dash by the windshield.

I keep a "squishy ball" in cup holder to throw on top of the sensor during less than perfect driving conditions...I hate to manually turn on/off lights. Although I'm from the US, I'm a supporter of DRL and have been considering buying the module from the dealer since it does reduce the lights' power output...I don't necessarily like having clearance lights on in the daytime...sorry, kind of redneck.

Thanks for all the replys. I'll think I'll go with the temporary method and not mess with the wiring.

Thanks

The problem with covering up the sensor is that it dims the info center and radio lights.

So, true about the lights dimming inside, and I never even check if it would work just by unplugging it, I guess I did not have to jump the plug.lol.cheers.
