found some stuff that works really good for cleaning the aluminimun on these old fords it is called brasso. used it on my 66 custom cab and the grill now has a shine to it. Spent about an hour on the grill going to try the rest today if the wether will let me.

 

Liquid or wadding Brasso? Wadding Brasso is what I used to use back in the day to polish the emblems on my Dress Blues before the Marines authorised annodized brass on uniforms. The liquid has more abrassives to help cut through tarnish but gets all over the place and dries to a off white color so you can clean it off. Either way it is a very good thing to have on hand.

Just about any store that sells cleaning products like wally world etc; its in a small metal can liqiud & wadding. Check the house hold cleaning idsle
I also read folks using oven cleaner on their grill to pull the heavy oxidation off; havn't try it yet.
