How difficult to remove are the rear spring brackets?
I put an Explorer 8.8 (3.27 ring and pinion) disk braked rear end on top of the stock leafs, removed every other leaf, reversed the Explorer U bolt mount, and had to "c" the frame for clearance. Now I have 3 1/8" of clearance from the top of the axel tube tube to the c in the frame with 15 inch 215R15 tires when the truck is not on jacks.
Right now the bottom of the very end of my frame is 13" from the ground. So the topof the frame is about 17" inches and therefore the box will be about 20". The front suspension is a Gibbons and the bottom of the front of the frame is 10" . Might Low.
I bought the shackles from Sacremento Vintage that are supposed to raise the frame (and therefore the bottom of the bed") about 1 1/2" - 2". To do so I have to remove the old mount. Any suggestions?
Take a grinding wheel and cut a cross in the rivit head, use an air hammer angainst the outside edgeof the rivit and it will give fairly easily, then punch them thru....

Same here!! Worked good for me. I did not think my neighbor like the noise though? LOL good luck!
I think I'm where I want to be. After removing every other leaf and putting a c in the frame, and using the Sacremento Vintage shackle, the bottom of the very rear of the frame is 15" from the ground with the tires on and sitting on it's own.
I'm waiting for the Mustang tank now and it' s back ordered.

And why do you want to raise the frame? ......Seems that you are already much higher than the front.
I wanted to make sure I had axle clearance from the frame. Now at 4 inches. enought to put in a rubber bumper if I want to. The front will be going up some - it's a Gibbons with tortion bars. Not sure what the final height will be. I think I'm in the range though. Someone on here had a picture of a 55 light green F-100 that was 9 in the front and 14 in the back. I want to be a little higher than that.
