So I have a Cobra 148GTL CB with Side Band. I also have a small amp for my one subwoofer. Is there any adjustments I can make to the CB to keep it from picking up my amp when i turn the volume up??? Or is there a better way to prevent this???
Thanks in advance
Make sure your wires are not running in parallel especially the antenna since anything
with a higher potential power can induct a current in the lower powered wire and that
can cause all kinds of potential noise and decreased output. I would try and keep the
low power wires running on one side of the cab and the high power 12volt wires running on the other side. Put the rca and the antennae wire together and where ever
they have to cross a 12volt wire make it at a 90* angle!
A few snap on noise suppressors could cut it down.http://www.skycraftsurplus.com/index...OD&ProdID=1537
Make sure the 12v positive isn't shared by the amp and cb and you could try to bond
the grounds of the two and see if that helps.
I have a cb and an amp in my truck, the amp wires are all ran on the passenger side of the truck and the cb wiring is all on the driver side. I get no interference from my amp, with my cb, check your cable routing as previously stated and go from there.
