Because he gives me a big ego boost and then he sends tragedy my way. First off, I made a dodge owner envious with my truck and how quickly it scooted along(he had to keep up) and followed me into where I was getting some diesel so I had a full tank to go to Bean's the next morning(made me a little leary with the following, but it turned out alright). Spent a few minutes talking about mods, what I had done, what I recommended etc. After fill up, huge gushing of diesel fuel underneath my truck. Went to the barn, huge diesel fuel trail all the way back. Parked by barn and waited forty minutes, franticly calling Matt, ended up losing 7 gallons of diesel(7x3.85=26.95) and then finally Matt called back. He thinks it's the old return line that needs to be plugged up. Have to wait until tomorrow to see if that's what it is, and then hopefully Bean will be able to take me friday and see if he can do the fix then(if Matt is right about the return line, makes since but have to wait til it stops before I'll know for sure). This is way he hates me. Sets me up with that wonderful ego boost of making a dodge owner envious and then just blows it all alway. Life just isn't fair sometimes.
Well you know it's been said: "Pride comes before the fall"
Be thankful the "fall" was only a fuel leak! It could have been worse, like if you would have lost that race!! I say, God looked down on you with much care, since HE held you truck apart and let it break after you worked that guy!!
In a way that provides comfort, but in another way it doesn't. Go figure, huh.
I could have done without the fall part though and just have stuck with the pride.
At least the guy in the Dodge was following you because he was impressed, and not to tell you that you were leaking fuel all over the road!! Now that would have sucked!
First off, why wasn't the old lines plugged in the first place? That's a major recommendation from FASS, you don't leave lines unplugged. Gives a reason for contaminates to enter the tank. Unless your tank was under pressure, it is PHYSICALLY impossible for you to loose 7 gallons of diesel. The return lines are not that large, plus they are at the top of the tank.. You are more likely to blow diesel from your vent lines than you are a return line..
You got another problem, and to me it sounds like a line bust.. Your running the FASS, I'd be sure your lines are properly secured and installed.

6 miles from Home Depot diesel to my barn and then for 50 minutes after I shut down there was a steady stream of fuel(which looked like it was under pressure by the steadiness of the stream of fuel) and it didn't stop even after it was hauled off it was still flowing almost as if it was being syphoned off.

HOLY cow dunk... There has to be a leaking fitting on one of your true fuel lines.. That would be the only way for it to have enough suction to continue draining.. An old return line that wasn't plugged wouldn't do that..
I'm betting the leak is probably on the FASS pickup. You used the full replacement pump right? Not the booster pump?

I got the return line plugged and I filled it up again and so far so good. If it was a true fuel line, it should have continued to leak after I did that and filled back up.
