Tint

I had some tint installed about a year ago and the bottom edge on the drivers side has lifted. I guess the lifted area is about 4" long by1/2" to 3/4" high. I tried some of that stuff they sell to apply the tint.......thinking it had some gluing properties.......it did not work. I also got the drier out too and that did not help either. Any ideas.........I really can't use the window at all unless I want to just tear it out. Thanks for any and all responses.

Window tint comes with the adhesive already on it. Tint is usually applied by wetting (with some soap) the window prior to being installed; so chances are all adhesion hopes for your tint is gone.

So if you would like to tear the remaining off-
You should get some window cleaner with ammonia (or ammonia diluted in a sprayer bottle).
Find something to cover your door panel (or remove the panel, if its quick'n easy).
Saturate the remaining tint with the solution and use some *New* razor blades (get a few of them) start lightly scraping- the remaining tint should start to come right off.

Keep In mind... that you Must be scraping on a WET surface otherwise you could scratch the window.
If any adhesive-goo still exists, use the same procedure to remove. Then follow with a few cleaning passes with window cleaner and paper towels.

Once you get the hang of it- it shouldn't take longer than 10-15mins.

That is kind of a bummer.........I was not sure if there could be something applied that would do the fix. Oh well..........thanks for the information on the cleaning of the window.
