Need Help picking programmer for 2006 V10

I have put a lift and 37x13.50x20 tires on my truck and need to fix the speedo, so I need a programmer that will let me do that. Any performance boost or fuel economy increase would be a bonus.

I have looked at the SCT Livewire or SF3, would either of these work? It seems they are more popular than the Diablo Sport Predator? Or would that do it for me too?

Thanks for your help.

If you need the gauges, and are willing to put with the bulk of the Live Wire, and you can figure out how to mount it... the Livewire. Personally though I think the Livewire is a hassle. So that narrows it to the SF3 or Predator. The SF3 is going to give you more options because you can get it custom tuned if you need to from more dealers, but the Predator isn't a bad unit at all.

Also consider Edge, Superchips and Sniper Special Forces. I love my special forces software, I believe it will do up to 42" tires and gives you more options than most users need. Edge new evolution is a nice, fairly compact unit with guages and performance tuning. Superchips Cortex is their latest programmer and should provide you with the options you need.

I'd stay clear of Granatelli/Diablo, I have had bad experiences with some of their products and haven't seen fit to give them a 6th chance to impress me.

ReAx.... you know who wrote the tunes for Sniper? The same guy who did many of those tunes for Diablo. PM me if you want some history.

The problems I had with granatelli were hardware based and odd customer/retailer service.

Actually, there was no such thing as "Granatelli" Predator hardware. Granatelli took standard Predators and slapped their name on it, marketing them as "Granatelli Predators" but they were, in fact, exactly the same product, loaded with the same tunes. It caused a lot of bad blood with Diablo, especially considering GMS's history of taking over brands and then eventually making a clone themselves. GMS later switched over to a special version of the SCT XCal in a Predator shaped programmer, which they called the Feugo.

What were the hardware based problems you had?

It was with their MAFs primarily. I sold a bunch of them, but tuners couldn't work them out, they acted a little funky for most of my customers and I had several bad ones. Most the C-models, but the entire line of MAFs caused me some baldness.

I didn't know that diablo was their own company, I'd still be a little concerned of their involvement.

Here's what happened:

GMS approached Diablo, like any other distributor. They got a contract to distribute them. After there became evidence that GMS was selling lower than they were supposed to, plus GMS was taking the units and relabeling them. It caused a lot of confusion in the marketplace and Diablo attempted to yank the distributorship. GMS sued and kept distribution long enough to get another channel for tuners (SCT).

Diablo had nothing to do with GMS MAFs -- and had their hands tied as far as GMS distribution. Slamming Diablo based on someone else's hardware, doesn't make sense. Its like slamming SCT because you didn't like an exhaust one of their dealers sold you.

Go with SCT. Diablosport is good also, I've used both on V10s already.

I never even considered an Edge, Hypertech or Superchips tuners for my V10 or any vehicle for that matter. Do your homework you will se why.
