ok i have got the filter and elbow, and trying to find a proper clamp for the filter to the elbow, but do I use the factory tubes or am I supposed to get some other type of hose for this mod, and man that is one heck of a filter pictures do not do it justice.
all i did on my intake was get the 6637 filter, and a piece of PVC pipe elbow. then i just used the stock rubber tubes all the way to the intake using regualr hose clamps for the filter and pvc connection. i will most likely get a chunk of exhaust pipe to replace the stock tubes, but for now the stock tubes and pvc work just fine, woke the truck up a lot. i actually heated the rubber inlet on the 6637 to fit over very tight to the pvc pipe. its a air tight setup. sorry i dont have pics, i can try to get some tomorrow up
I got some constant tension clamps from NAPA. The NAPA part description said they were made for use with hydraulic hoses. They apply pressure 360 degrees around the pipe. Regular hose clamps might/could cause the rubber to pinch up and allow air to sneak in. I also used some blue RVT to make sure it was sealed and tight. I figured why take a chance as I did see a guys K&N completely off the pipe one day when he upped the hood to show me his cold air box.
On the filter end of the elbow I took a couple wraps of "Gorilla Tape" so that the filter fit more snug then I used a constant pressure clamp from Napa. I also used the stock rubber Billows tubing.
