Where is the best source to buy the Keystone heat extractor? I have been considering this move for quite a while. Just waiting for the funds to be a little more comfortable. I Gotta stop ordering stuff from Cabellas!
You will not be dissappointed in the keystone heat extractor hood... I love mine. Gives the truck a little tougher look. The company I got mine from went out of business. I would do a search for it. they are spendy and watch shipping. Typically they are like COD's for shipping... mine was supposed to be a hundred but ended up being 180... but what are you going to do??
I have a knock-off Heat extractor, the Pronto one from ebay for $400, painted for $125, and it's still not worth it, doesnt fit worth chit. But here it is.
So my question with the Keystone heat extractor hoos is does it make it louder in the cab? I have been thinking of going to this as my current hood is cracking up. I have been hesitant on the move as I don't know what the overall sound level would be when towing.
Nope, don't notice a dang difference. Its odd how the heat extractor works. The rear "cowl" section is not vented on the outside, but rather on the inside there are vents, however not in the center. The hot air under the hood has to travel through the rear vent, then FORWARD to the front cowl and then out. I'm not sure how it works in actuality, but it looks DAMN COOL! however it does add about 5-6' to the blind spot in the front, as the hood sits about 3" higher. You do get used to it rather quick though.
DC, love the truck and the hood, my question to hijack the thread is, is that a stock front bumper with lights cut into it or is that an after market bumper?

Stock that I modified (welded the light mounts into it).
pekkah, The guys are absolutely right, the Keystone hood fit like a glove on our F350. We have used a their hoods on a bunch of our project trucks over the years and never had any issues with fitment or quality......
