axle code?
is there a look-up table somewhere on this site for decoding the door-sticker? I'm interested in what the rear-axle is in 1995 F250 extended cab; axle code 39.

Code 39 is a 6250 lb capacity with a 3.55 ratio.

Agreed. My book says the same. Not too sure on a website but I am sure you will find something if you Google "Ford truck axle code". Good luck.

Sterling Axle Cover?
Thanks for the info -- I had heard of Dana rear-ends...but not Sterling. The one in my son's '95 F250 has a leaky cover (pinhole rust). Most places carry chrome replacements for Dana 44 and Dana 60. I found one on ebay that sounds like it'll fit (it's pouring outside right now, or I'd run out and take a look at what's on the truck).

It looks like Sterling is 12-bolt...versus Dana 10-bolt.
=> For a replacement cover, are there any other points to know -- or do all I need to do is make sure I get a 12-bot for a Sterling?
