I currently have the bullydog 6 position chip in my truck along with 4 inch turbo back exhaust. My question is I thought I read some where on here that the bully dog doesn't do anything with uping the fuel?? so would it be worth doing this mod???
On the highest setting this thing feels like it lags a bit at WOT. And I can't get over 15lbs of boost. I know I don't have a leak I went though all that yesterday with fixing the intake leak I had. Waste gate is plugged also
thats what I don't understand.. Done pressure test fixed leaks. The last thing I can possibly think of is my turbo is going. But with 160,000 on it seems kind of funny as well
Others will chime in but you proabably hear things along the lines of; check up-pipes for leaks, is fuel filter clean and do you have pressure, Wastegate-have you chedked pressure with it unplugged. Have you checked your boost gage install well for leaks or kinks. How do the turbine blades look? Any slop in the turbine axle? Air filter clean? Any codes on the PCM? How does the truck run otherwise?
Never mind did another air test and the other side is leaking. I guess I couldn't hear it over the passenger side. So now this weekend I will tear it apart again and hopefully this will take care of it.
Are you chasing the intake plenum leaks you mentioned in your other thread? If so you may be hearing leakage past the valves and not actually have a leak at the plenum. Put you hand over the exhaust pipe and see if you have possitive pressure durring the leak test. Try soapy water around the plenumm and look for bubbles. Try bumping the motor to get the valves closed (easier said than done). I'm betting your plenums are fine.
Well that was fun. Pulled everything apart today. Had a hell of time getting the turbo off because of the rear clamp. But upon my taking things apart I noticed that the rod for the Exhaust blow of valve was disconnected and stopping the valve from opening. So after I got the new gasket made for the plenum got everything hooked back up like it was suppose to be. So tomorrow I will see how it does when the RTV has set up
