There's a set of 4 5100's on Ebay with a $266 buy it now and $19 shipping. They're listed for X's with 4-6" of lift (fits the bill for me). Is this a decent price and will this be a good shock to improving towing quality for my 2000 w/4" Procomp lift?
I don't know how many miles are on the current shocks but there's kind of a loose clunking in the front that reminds me of the F250 when the shocks were bad on it.
do you 2 find a better ride with your new standard Bilsteins ? have you towed with them yet. ty i am thinking on getting a set for better tow feelling?
I tow a 9000# TT with 1100-1200#'s of tongue weight. Prior to the Bilsteins...I'd get 2-3 bounces when towing on one of my favorite back country roads to a state park I frequent often...now with the Bilsteins...the bounce dampens out after 1...keep in mind I've only got about 2000 miles on these shocks right now though...after they wear in...I'll have to let you know if they still produce the same great results...
So for me...I am VERY PLEASED with the overall ride improvements in the Bilsteins. I swapped my OEM's out at 32K miles...I now have 34K miles...
