I have a 2004 F-250 and bought it new off the lot. It came with LT 265/75R/16 tires on it. There seems to be a lot of room left in the wheel well. Wondering if I could go to 285/75R/16 without any altering or wheel rub?
The 285's will fit fine - should be about 33" high vs. 31.5" high and you won't have any issues rubbing on the leaf springs turning or other clearance issues. Your speedometer will be out slightly but you can adjust that with a good tuner or even a cheaper programmer that only changes the speedo for your new tire size.
Thanks for the info. My truck has the XLT package added to it, and the tires looked really small for the truck. Thanks once again for the info. Just got it back from the dealer last week. Bad EGR only 53000 on the 6.0 diesel. I can only hope this is not the beginning of troubles.
Tarheel read above post. You can run 295's and some can run 305's with out problems
Now you second question, There is no difference on the front ends between 250 and 350., only the rear is different.
Now if you have a plow package or what some call X springs in the front the 305 will clear easy.
Remember 305 is the same height as a 285 just and inch wider tire. That is why some 305's rub on the leaf spring at full lock.
