351C head availability

Just a short question about the availability of cleveland heads in the US... what are the relative availabilities of 2V and 4V open and closed chamber heads? As you may guess, I'm not from the US. Also, did Ford US ever make a factory 2V 4bbl intake?

Look on Ebay - there are typically several sets of heads in varying conditions and varying prices. Note that 2V=2bbl and 4V=4bbl. I believe that you are asking whether Ford ever made an intake that fit the 2V heads but took a 4V carb - and the answer is no. You must get this type of intake in the aftermarket and there are several available from Edelbrock, Weiand and others. Good luck!

Really? I'm a little surprised. As you probably know, Ford Australia made heaps of these types of manifolds (ie, for 2V heads to suit 4 barrel carb).... and often fitted them to 302C engines as well as 351C (the 302C has only a 3" stroke and closed chamber 2V "Aussie" heads). These intake manifolds can be bought a lot cheaper than any aftermarket manifolds, and I have seen dyno printouts that show a 13% increase in max power just by changing the intake on a stock 351C with 2V heads from a factory 2 barrel to a factory 4 barrel (and carb from 350 holley to 600 holley) with no other changes whatsoever. Little wonder this is such a popular modification over here with the abundance of such (cheap) factory 4 barrel manifolds to suit 2V heads.
Point being, maybe there is a market for Aussie manifolds in the US?

I had read about the Aussie parts but had not taken that into consideration when reading your post. If the intakes were cheap enough, looked decent, and accepted an aftermarket (Holley/Edelbrock) carb, then yes there should be a market. Do the Aussie 2V/4V intakes take a square bore carb and is the bore fully open or is it cut for the specific sized Ford carb venturi (I suppose that could be ground out)? I wonder what the shipping costs would be (probably would have to import a bunch to make it worthwhile if they are iron)...

They look just like a 4V intake, just smaller runners. The one I have will accept squarebore or speadbore with an adapter (the manifold is squarebore, but the factory carter carb was spreadbore and there was a spacer/adapter from the factory. I now have a 750 Holley on there)
